This was a great interview! I learned a lot about one of my all time favorite bands. Don, I really appreciate your honesty.

As for "Broken Bones"...........Wow! Great work, both musically & lyrically. If this is the last album/cd, you did it in style Don. Thank you.

[...] Don Dokken didn’t lay down any vocal tracks for his latest album for six months after the band had started work, in the hope of letting his vocal cords heal after tearing them. He says: “I’ll never be able to sing as high as I could. I had to go back to my old vocal teacher. I had to put three humidifiers in all the rooms of my house, warm up for an hour, do scales, quit smoking, don’t talk a lot. Sometimes as I go to sing a song I’ll say: ‘Guys, I can hit the note, but my voice will have too much buzz in it.’ Some days they’ll go, ‘Wow, your voice is nice and clean and clear.’ It’s hit and miss.” [Powerline] [...]

"Broken Bones" is the best new, complete album I have heard in a long time. There is no fluff. There was no fluff on "Lightning Strikes Again" either. This new album is still Dokken and Jon's guitar is tuned in the Dokken signature key on a few songs. All I can say is WOW. Most underrated band ever.

Don is an incredible song writer. His craft of producing and writing melodic hard rock tunes is something to admire. I have been a fan of Dokken since the beginning. I've been a fan of all the lineup changes. One thing has remained constant: Don's writing abilities.

Thank you Don for the new music.

Great read! Don really did a great job of explaining everything. I look forward to the next time I see them to see if it's a good night or bad night for him. The last few times I have seen him it's been bad nights, but I still love their music!
