8. Queensrÿche - “Revolution Calling”
At the time the album Operation: Mindcrime came out (late ’80s) it was revolutionary in itself. And “Revolution Calling” is its standout song. While many metal bands continued to write fantasy lyrics that were hackneyed, immature, and corny, Queensryche’s songwriting was evolving at a fast clip. Here’s the proof.
