Paul Nelson’s most recent distinction is writing for and performing on Blues/Rock legend Johnny Winter’s latest Grammy nominated album entitled I’m a Bluesman released on Virgin/EMI for which he penned the title track, – as well as producer/performer on his latest release Roots on Megaforce/Sony.

Liege Lord was one of the finest American power metal bands in the 1980s. The Connecticut band comprised of Tony Truglio on lead guitar, Matt Vinci on bass, Frank Cortese on drums and Paul Nelson on lead guitar. The band also had two powerhouse singers during its existence: Andy Michaud and Joe Comeau. There was also one guitarist previous to Paul Nelson: Pete McCarthy. McCarthy is featured on the band’s debut album Freedom’s Rise. Truglio and Comeau have gone on to play with Helmet and Overkill, respectively.
