For those who have the dough (and there are many who do), this is probably one of the coolest heavy metal equipment collectibles to be up for auction in some time: three different Queensrÿche drum kits used by drummer Scott Rockenfield. And the one really standing out is the Operation: Mindcrime drum set (at left). Here are all three up for auction at Backstage Auctions’ Rock Gods and Metal Monsters Auction from April 21 – 29th, 2012:

Drum Set Descriptions:

SCOTT ROCKENFIELD 2007 OPERATION MINDCRIME’ DRUM KIT
Starting Bid: $3995.00
‘Operation: Mindcrime’ is arguably Queensryche’s signature album from their already impressive discography. This platinum status rock opera concept album from 1988 can often been found in any random ‘Top 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time’ – and deservedly so!

Featured here is a brand new, limited edition full and complete kit, which is an exact reproduction of the original tour kit, as designed and built by Scott himself and used for the 2007 ‘Operation Mindcrime’ world tour.

The drum kit is made of 100% all maple drum shells and includes;

- Two 20 x 22 inch kick drums with custom drum heads
- Four rack toms (respectively 8, 10, 12 and 13 inches)
- 16 inch floor tom
- Snare drum (5 1/2 x 14 inches)

The fun however doesn’t stop with just the kit, which Scott is willing to sign and personalize for you at request. Also added is a pair of signature drum sticks and an autographed 8 x 10 inch photo.

For domestic and overseas shipping, please contact Backstage Auctions for a quote. The kit does not include the cymbals, microphone stands, microphones or drum riser as shown in the photos.
