Testament releases video doc about new album

Bay Area thrash metal legends, Testament, have posted their first in-studio video documenting the making of their new album Dark Roots Of Earth (below). The first installment shows the band talking about the demoing process for the new record.

Check out a stream of the new track, “True American Hate,” via Nuclear Blast’s website here, along with several Dark Roots Of Earth pre-order options. “True American Hate” is the first track to surface from the band’s highly anticipated 10th studio album, Dark Roots Of Earth – its first release in over four years following 2008’s critically acclaimed, The Formation Of Damnation.

Dark Roots Of Earth is due out on July 31st in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.

The CD was produced, mixed and mastered by acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, ACCEPT, EXODUS). Special bonus tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, TED NUGENT, NIGHT RANGER) at his Trident Studios. Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS and GWAR, among others, provided the cover artwork.

TESTAMENT recently wrapped up filming a music video for “Native Blood” with director, Mike Sloat. The song, whose lyrics are about vocalist Chuck Billy’s Native American heritage, was filmed at the Hopland Indian Reservation in Hopland, Calif. last weekend. TESTAMENT has also revealed several co-headlining tour-dates with fellow American thrash metal greats, ANTHRAX, in support of the summer release. The September run will feature DEATH ANGEL in support, and is slated to kick off on Sept. 14thin Sacramento, Calif. A list of all confirmed dates can be seen below.
