1. $1,025.00 – Burzum “Burzum”
Hail to the ALL CAPS! The eBay seller’s delight. Here is what the seller had to say in All Caps: YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN ULTRA RARE COLLECTORS RECORD!! BURZUM – BURZUM SAME LP VERY FIRST PRESS DSP 1992 ANTI MOSH 002! BURZUM ADDRESS. ULTAR ARE FIRST PRESS LIMITED EDITION ON DEATHLIKE SILENCE PRODUCTIONS !! THIS IS THE REALLY FIRST PRESS WITH BURZUM´S ADDRESS AND DSP ADDRESS!! DSP 1992 ANTI – MOSH 002. TAKE IT NOW OR YOU WILL NEVER FIND IT AGAIN!?”

Gotta love that last sentence. But the buyer believed it and shelled out a grand to boot! Even though discog members are selling this same pressing for  half the amount and in mint condition. The condition for this item was described as Mint – / Ex+

You have to wonder what Varg Vikernes, aka Kristian Larsson Vikernes, aka Count Grishnackh, aka Burzum, thinks of all this.

2. $686.13 – Fallout Rock Hard 7″  w/photo + poster
Sexy cover, in a Occupy Wall Street sort of way. Billed as a “super rare” 7″ and pretty accurate. According to discogs and the seller, Fallout features “Peter Steele (then billed under his birth name, Peter Ratajczyk) on bass and vocals and Josh Silver on keyboards, as well as John Campos on guitars and one time Agnostic Front/Carnivore drummer Louie Beateaux (then billed as Lou Beato) on drums. According to the seller, Fallout released only one record before the band’s demise in 1982, the “Rock Hard” 7″ single, released in 1981 on Silver Records is “LIMITED TO 500 COPIES.”

More from the seller: “Sleeve shows only slight signs of aging and is near mint as is the record and photo. Poster is 19″ X 24″ heavily creased at the folds but unused. The last copy to sell went for $500 and was not nearly in as good condition and didn’t have the extras. Don’t miss out on a chance to get this unique package.”

Well, the seller got more than $500 alright.

3. $450.00 – Mayhem De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Evil in the form of another DEATHLIKE SILENCE production (1994/ ANTI-MOSH 006). And in the words of the seller: “FU**********ING RARE AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION !! THIS RECORD IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY COLLECTOR !! PLAYS PERFECT NO SKIPS !!”

Enough said, I guess.

4. $415.00 – Axxe 45
During one week this auction went from $5 to $400+ for a relatively unknown Hard Rock/Metal band called Axxe. This 45 was produced by Impulse Records from Texas. Songs are “Rock away the City” and “Through the Night.”

Seller: “Record is in VG++ condition, PS is in VG+ condition very nice with very light ware BUT there is a whole in the back center and a very small tear at the same place on front, The front you can fix easy and would never see but the whole on the back is missing the peace (sic) to fix. This is SUPER RARE. Pre-Impeccable and even with the whole this is the nicest PS I have seen for the record.”

Not sure what “pre-impeccable” means but it is obviously worth at least 400 bucks.

Want a sample? You can listen to Axxe here. It’s always cool to discover new bands like this, especially from the days of metal’s infancy.

5. $405.00 – Iron Maiden Eddie’s Head box set.
This one only needed two bids.

The seller liked to point out that this box set is for “serious collectors only.” Thanks for that. We saw this item sold last week. This one might be in better shape. The blinking eyes are included but the seller was “not sure if they still work.” Hmnn. This box set had a numbered slip for authentication.

6. $317.98 – Electric Wizard We Live
A double LP in purple vinyl that is described as mint and a first pressing, and still in its original shrink.

The seller goes on (and God knows they love to use small caps): LONG SOLD OUT! FOLD OUT POSTER/LYRIC INSERT – IMMACULATE! – STILL IN SLEEVE. NEVER PLAYED IT AS I HAVE ALTERNATIVE FORMAT – THE LP WAS BOUGHT TO KEEP AS AN INVESTMENT ONLY – IT’S MINT
PICTURES DO NOT LOOK MUCH AS I HAVE TRIED TO HANDLE IT AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE & KEEP EVERYTHING PERFECT.”

It almost gives you the feeling like the seller is shouting at you.

7. $345.00 – Burzum Filosofem
Yay, another Burzum. What a surprise. This issue of Filosofem is a first pressing, “black-etched” edition gatefold, with booklet and sticker. On Misanthropy Records, 1996.

8. $338.33 – Slayer World Painted Blood promo package
This is a promotional item ala Slayer’s World Painted Blood. The CD and bio are sealed inside a real biohazard bag. We’ve all seen this around. BUt the seller claims that it is “super-rare and never publicly available.” Also: “As this is a promotional advance, the CD may not play in all audio players.”

I don’t think anyone would open the bag anyway, buddy. But thanks.

9. $310.22 – Grim Reaper Bleed Em Dry autographed demo
Ah, the NWOBHM band Grim Reaper. This is no. 125 of a cassette demo from 1981.

The seller adds a personal note: “Need to make contact with Nick Bowcott (the guitarist) on a personal matter. Anyone got his contact details or arrange for him to contact us?” A nice way to combine Facebook and eBay.

The demo sold in excellent condition. The track listing is as follows:

Side 1 – Intro, The Reaper, Street lady, Maggy

Side 2 -Lovin you, Bleed em Dry, Ride Me, Leavin

Seller says “Signatures by Paul de Mercado, Unknown, Cheers Stan Nick Bowcott, Angel Jacques”

Always good to have an autograph from “unknown” in the ‘ol collection.

10. $311.66 – Candlemass Doomology CD box set
This box set is limited to 250 copies worldwide, so hence the price. It was sold at Candlemass’ 25 Years of Doom concert in Stockholm, 22 December 2010.
