Review

It may be hard to convince some readers of this site to think of ex-Alice Cooper guitarist Steve Hunter’s new solo album, The Manhattan Blues Project as anything more than elevator music.

Well, it’s not the exciting heavy rock music of Alice Cooper but it is worthwhile. The Manhattan Blues Project is filled with guitar-oriented instrumentals of polished blues with Steve Hunter as the conductor to various guitar guest stars providing electric leads. Joe Perry, Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, and even Johnny Depp (!!) play call-of-duty guitar leads while Hunter provides the ever-steady guitar rhythm.

If you love guitar, it is an amusing pickup. Otherwise, you will probably lose interest quickly.
